About the Project
Turning a Loss into a National Asset
Hundreds of thousands of male buffalo and cattle calves are slaughtered early in Pakistan each year because farmers lack the means or knowledge to rear them. Each lost calf represents a significant waste of beef production potential.
This PM initiative saves these calves to the age of 3 months โ when they reach 65โ70 kg โ providing them as a foundation for subsequent feedlot fattening. The program targets 380,000 calves over 4 years, is executed across all provinces including AJK, GB, and ICT, and mobilizes a total budget of Rs. 3.4 billion (20% Federal, 80% Provincial).
