LDDB was established to promote and facilitate development of Pakistan’s dairy, meat, poultry, and allied livestock industries — treating livestock not just as a poverty reduction tool but as an engine of rural and national economic growth.

Our Mandate

Plan, Promote & Coordinate Investment

Accelerate development of and investment in the dairy, meat, poultry, and allied livestock sectors through strategic planning, promotion, and cross-sector coordination.

Identify Bottlenecks & Propose Solutions

Institute studies to identify structural, regulatory, and technical bottlenecks impeding livestock, poultry, and dairy development — and recommend evidence-based remedial measures.

Promote Livestock Marketing

Facilitate market access, price discovery, and effective marketing of livestock and livestock products for both domestic consumption and export.

Organize Producer Entities

Organize, promote, and facilitate the formation of producer-owned and producer-controlled organizations to increase collective bargaining power of farmers.

Capacity Building of All Stakeholders

Undertake systematic capacity building of farmers, field staff, veterinarians, researchers, and private sector partners across the full livestock value chain.

Technology Development & Dissemination

Facilitate, promote, and support the development and widespread dissemination of improved technologies for the livestock sector — from genetics to processing.
